Subscription cost calculator Form SA-9

The plain version of the audit: every subscription on one slip, every billing cycle converted to the same scale, one stamped yearly total. Seeded with four typical rows — replace them with yours and watch the stamp move.

One scale for every cycle.

First, the guess — then the ledger. List every subscription once and the page posts your true monthly and yearly totals, plus the cancel list, below the tear line. Everything stays in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.

Estimates, not financial advice. This page converts the billing cycles you enter to one scale and totals them. It doesn’t check your bank statements, doesn’t cancel anything for you, and isn’t financial advice. Cancel inside each service itself; the ledger just shows you the number.

How the totals are computed Form SA-9

Every row is converted to a full year first: weekly × 52, monthly × 12, quarterly × 4, yearly × 1. The monthly total is the yearly total divided by 12. That single rule is why a $24 quarterly app and a $59.99 yearly renewal can sit on the same slip as a $15.49 monthly plan and still total correctly — $701.75 a year in the seeded example above.

Rows you haven’t touched in 30 days are stamped CANCEL? and summed into the cancel list: the gym and the antivirus in the example total $419.87 a year back. Nothing leaves your browser; the ledger persists locally so the audit is a living list, not a one-time form.

    Common questions Form SA-9

How do you convert weekly/quarterly/yearly prices to monthly?

Convert everything to yearly first: weekly × 52, monthly × 12, quarterly × 4, yearly × 1 — then divide the yearly total by 12. That keeps every cycle on one scale without rounding drift.

Does the calculator store my data?

No. The main audit page keeps your ledger in your browser’s localStorage so it survives a refresh; these scenario pages don’t persist anything. Nothing is sent to any server — there isn’t one.

    Can I use any currency?

Yes — type plain numbers and read the dollar sign as your own currency symbol. The arithmetic doesn’t care which currency it is.

What’s a good monthly subscription total?

There’s no moral number, but there is a useful comparison: the U.S. average is $219 to $273 a month. If you’re above it, the cancel list is where the answer lives; if you’re below it, the audit approves.
