Cancel unused subscriptions: the 30-minute audit Form SA-9
Small charges compound. This page runs the audit credit unions have been teaching for years — list everything, flag what you haven’t touched in 30 days, price the cancel list — and does the arithmetic for you. The seeded ledger below has six rows, three unused; the cancel list is already stamped.

First, the guess — then the ledger. List every subscription once and the page posts your true monthly and yearly totals, plus the cancel list, below the tear line. Everything stays in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.

Estimates, not financial advice. This page converts the billing cycles you enter to one scale and totals them. It doesn’t check your bank statements, doesn’t cancel anything for you, and isn’t financial advice. Cancel inside each service itself; the ledger just shows you the number.

The 30-minute audit, step by step Form SA-9
The playbook is five steps and thirty minutes. First, gather three months of card and bank statements plus your app-store subscription list: ten minutes, and it catches the annual renewals and converted trials. Second, list every charge with its price and cycle; this page does the conversions. Third, mark what you haven’t used in 30 days. Fourth, cancel inside each service — screenshot the confirmation. Fifth, set a calendar reminder six months out; that’s the audit becoming a habit instead of an event.
The seeded example prices the habit: six rows total $1,053.40 a year, and the three unused rows (the gym, the magazine, the cloud tier, and the meal kit) sum to $735.64 a year back. The math does the persuading; the reminder does the keeping.
Common questions Form SA-9
What counts as an “unused” subscription?
The working rule on this page: not used in the last 30 days. Seasonal services (a sports package in the off-season, a tax app in August) are the exception; pause or schedule those instead of canceling.
How long does a subscription audit take?
About thirty minutes the first time: ten to gather statements, ten to list and categorize, ten to cancel and set reminders. Repeat audits take five, because the ledger persists in your browser.
Will canceling hurt my credit?
No. Subscriptions aren’t credit accounts; canceling one doesn’t touch your credit score. The only edge case is a service with a contract term and an early-termination fee — check the terms before you cancel those.
Should I downgrade instead of canceling?
Often yes. Premium tiers you don’t fully use, family plans with one member, annual billing on something you’d keep monthly — downgrading keeps the value and cuts the price. The cancel list is a starting point, not a verdict.
